Principal Welcome Message

Hello, and welcome to Whittier Elementary!

I am honored to introduce myself to our school community. My name is Gaby Limon, and it is truly a privilege to serve as the proud principal of Whittier Elementary. I am excited to partner with our students, families, staff, and community as we begin an incredible school year together.

At Whittier, our mission is to ensure every child is known, valued, challenged, and supported every single day. Our dedicated team of teachers and leaders is committed to creating a high-performing, caring culture where students feel safe, welcomed, and inspired to achieve their very best.

We maintain an unwavering focus on high-quality instruction and strong student outcomes. Through differentiated learning experiences, engaging lessons, and meaningful relationships, we ensure every student has the opportunity to learn at their own pace while building upon their individual strengths. We hold high expectations for ourselves and for every student because we believe every child can achieve at high levels when provided with excellent instruction, encouragement, and support.

At Whittier, we are preparing students not only for success in college and career, but also to develop the HISD 2035 competencies, critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity, adaptability, and leadership. We are committed to closing achievement gaps, fostering a love of learning, and empowering every student to reach their fullest potential.

We also know that the strongest schools are built through strong partnerships with families. Your involvement, encouragement, and collaboration are essential to your child's success, and we look forward to working alongside you throughout the year. Together, we will celebrate accomplishments, overcome challenges, and create meaningful learning experiences that help every child thrive.

Thank you for trusting us with your child's education. We are honored to serve your family and cannot wait to welcome you to Whittier Elementary. Together, we will make this a year of growth, excellence, and unforgettable memories.

Welcome to the Whittier family, where every child belongs, every child is challenged, and every child can succeed.

We look forward to an amazing year together!
